I think the more sinister trap is behind this even if he manage to kill the "Mother". This is a psycological thriller after all. Remember that one of the side char went back in time, or original timeline, to push MC off hospital window so he can "go back"? that timeline's progress and how they got access to the technology for parallel world travel/jump between them is still not explained. Up to this point MC does not "sacrifice" anything of value, he just pursuit his lust and did not actually save anyone "yet". ie. any gardian in contact with Mother has that pig transform curse, doesn't mean there are no other curse that was set other than the "crushing moon" default one. Cause Mother just showed that she can designate any number of woman to die just because, with stupid condition nontheless.
