Essen, has ranked at the very bottom of the adventurer rankings for four consecutive years. Despite this, he refuses to give up on being an adventurer, driven by a childhood promise to become the worlds greatest adventurer. The story begins when Essen realizes the true power of his gift, Monster Eater, which he had always thought was merely the ability to eat anything without getting sick—just like a monster.
